Meeting–March 25th

So we’re back from Spring break…let’s get everything rolling!

We will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25th, at 6:30pm in ASB 203(across The Den).  It will be an NAHJ/ production meeting.

Unfortunately Patricio Espinoza will not be able to make it this Wednesday due to work, BUT he has confirmed that Saturday he and some of his friends will meet up with us to cover the Cesar Chavez March in San Antonio. This event takes place at 11am, so we are going to leave early and carpooling for sure.  At the meeting those of you interested can sign-up for this workshop and figure out how to get to San Antonio etc.

Having that said we will have a presentation on Networking.  Also, we are going to have a production meeting so we can come up with ideas so we can go out on thursday with cameras and make atleast two packages. We’ll see what we come up with tomorrow.

About the social…thanks to those who went, but it was sad not seeing everyone there!! I saw a lot of hands up that day at the meeting asking for a social…what happened?

Enough said, see you tomorrow!! :)

SOCIAL — Wednesday, March 11th

Hola hola Chicas(os),

I hope midterms are a breeze for you! You can do it!!

So, for those of you who went to the March 4th meeting, you unanimously voted for a social — therefore, this Wednesday, March 11th @ 7ish pm let’s get together and mingle!

Everett Romano has generously offered his house to hold the social.

Directions to his house:

1318 W. San Antonio St.
It’s across the street from the south Hays fire department.
San antonio St. is parallel to Hopkins St.

He is also offering to bring chips, tortillas and salsa. Ashley is going to bring the fajitas and I will be making rice. The only thing you need to do is bring your own drink and take your Ipods –algo para poner buen ambiente.

*****Also,  after Spring Break we will be having an extraordinary and well-established reporter as guest, five-time Emmy award-winning  Patricio Espinoza, on Wednesday, March 25th.  We are working on reserving a room and all the other good stuff. This is an event sponsored by us and the Center of the Study of Latino Media and Markets(where we have our meetings), so attendance will be VERY important.

Following the presentation I would like to have an NAHJ gathering so we can meet him since that Saturday, March 28th in San Antonio, we will be having a workshop with Mr. Espinoza and some of his colleagues to cover the Cesar Chavez March.  I will be having a sign-in sheet so I can know who is interested in this one-of-a-kind opportunity.

Thanks to those who have been going to the production meetings and studio! On Friday, March 27th, we will be shooting for 11:30 am at the studio so we can set up everything and maybe squeeze in a run-thru.  We would’ve wanted to do our first production that day but with the circumstances we will most likely aim for having our first legit production on April 3rd. I will be e-mailing you the different titles for the show and that way we can all vote.

¡Muchas gracias y nos vemos el miercoles!

See you on Wednesday!
